  How to Use Velcro Rollers

Velcro Rollers are the answer for people who do not like to spend a lot of time styling their hair!  Velcro Rollers are a great styling tool for boosting volume and setting loose curls while keeping frizz to a minimum. Velcro rollers vary in size, stick to the hair without pins and are fairly gentle to hair if used correctly.

The smaller the roller = The more curl & less volume

The larger the roller = The less curl & more volume

Tools Needed:  (all available @ Salon Bordeaux)

·      4-12 Velcro Rollers (it’s not necessary to roll entire head – just the top will work in a pinch)

·      Teasing brush

·      Flexi hold hairspray (Bumble & Bumble Does it All Spray or Pureology Incharge)

·      Blow Dryer and/or Flat Iron

Step 1

·      If using Velcro rollers on dry hair:  Blow dry hair to warm.  Flat iron each sub-section before rolling each section.

·      If taking hair from wet to dry:  Blow dry hair and proceed immediately into putting hair up in rollers while hair is still warm.

Step 2

·      Separate hair into sections and roll each section straight up 90 degrees off the scalp and down onto roller.  Make sure to roll the ends smoothly and with tension, until the roller rests securely against your head. ***Hint:  If the roller starts falling you have taken too big of a section.

·      For added volume, use teasing brush to tease base of each sub-section (after heating with flat iron) before rolling in roller.

Step 3

·      Once you finish the roller set, blow dry hair on medium heat for about 5 minutes.

·      Spray the roller set with a flexible hold hairspray

·      Allow the roller set to cool down for 15 – 20 min

Step 4

·      Unroll the Velcro roller exactly as you rolled it. If you pull straight down your hair could get tangled in the roller. DO NOT BREAK UP CURL YET!

·      Toss your head forward & shake hair out a few times.

Step 5

Using the balls of your fingertips, separate curls, break up teased hair and arrange hair into desired style.

Step 6

         Spray hair to hold.
